OUR MISSION
Keeping boxers and parents safe is our top priority.
Please note that the coaches and volunteers at Alaska Boxing Academy have continued to follow established sanitizing protocol and increased frequency of cleaning the gym, including but not limited to gym equipment, door handles, all surfaces, and restroom areas. We are following CDC’s prevention advice and USA Boxing’s most recent protocol and recommendations in regards to COVID-19

Self Confidence

Emotional Management
-
Leadership Development
-
Respect for Self & Others

Alaska Boxing Academy provides a safe environment with certified USA BOXING coaches with full background checks and a facility complete with all necessary boxing equipment. The training will promote general physical fitness, fundamental boxing technique, lectures to review rules, regulations and expectations of behavior in and out of the ring.
These exercises are aimed to prepare each participant for competition in local, national and international boxing events depending on each of the participates' personal goals.

MEET THE COACH
David Carey is the program director and head coach of the Alaska Boxing Academy, a nonprofit program benefiting the youth of Anchorage. He is a former athlete of the USA Boxing organization and member of the 2008 Olympic Boxing Team that traveled to Beijing, China.
As a boxing coach, and drug and alcohol prevention and intervention instructor, he has built a positive relationship with the youth within the Anchorage community. He has been able to help them grow and learn life skills in both fields of work. He believes that blending his love for boxing and his love and experience dealing with at risk youth, he can teach physical fitness in a healthy and controlled manner while encouraging positive decision making to physically and emotionally healthy young adults that can in turn give back to their families and community.
